Queen Elizabeth II dead at 96 after 70 years on the throne

The Britain’s longest reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II is died. According to the announcement from the Royal family, the Queen that saw the deterioration of the British Empire died on Thursday 8 September, 2022 at the age of 96 after she has reigned for 70 years on the throne of the British monarch.

Late Queen Elizabeth II, is a symbol of stability in a tempestuous era and departed from this world at Balmoral Castle, her summer residence in Scotland, where she has been received warm treatment of the royal family after her health took a turn for the worse.

However, Prince Charles, the 73-year-old son of Late Queen Elizabeth II is automatically became king and will be known as King Charles III, it was announced. British monarchs in the past have selected new names upon taking the throne. Charles’ second wife, Camilla, will be known as the Queen Consort.

A funeral for the Late Queen was to be held after 10 days of official mourning.

In respect to her death, the BBC played the national anthem, “God Save the Queen,” over a portrait of Elizabeth in full regalia as her death was announced, and the flag over Buckingham Palace was lowered to half-staff as the second Elizabethan age came to a close.
